Safeguarding workshops

Since 2008, the artist Carlos Reyes has been giving dyeing classes with natural components to indigenous communities with the aim of recovering this ancestral technique that has been abandoned in favor of chemical dyes.
Today, more than thirty communities in the southern states of Chiapas and Oaxaca benefit from these courses. The weavers then occupy the dyed fibers to weave huipiles (tunics), shawls, scarves, cushion cover and wallets intended for daily use, ceremonial or for sale.
On this page, you can discover in image, the natural components that were taught to the weavers.
